My parents said as a baby this used to give me jump scares in the car
Dad loved chant heavy s*** like this + had krs one tapes and outkast/goodie mob
albums

Rosa parks by outkast as a super youngin
then I remember hearing slowjamz at a bball tournament in seventh grade thinking this is the prettiest s*** I've ever heard in my life
idk dawg
I feel it was prob Pac, Big's hypnotize, and early DMX
Then again I also remember seeing LL Cool J and Onyx (slam) on tv as a youngin so maybe that
I used to be scared of ODB whenever he came on television for some reason
my dad is a classical music listener but for some reason he loves rap too lol i couldnt tell you my first song i dont remember but im sure it's something he played most likely latam rap
I would have to say either crying when big pun died( I was a baby) or listening to ks1075(local Denver hip-hop station) in the backseat of my moms car
Besides old school rap played by my dad, Nelly's Ride Wit Me was when I first truly got me into rap as a little kid.
aside from the s*** my dad would play like outkast (which was rare because he's mainly into reggaeton and bachata salsa merengue etc) the first hip hop song i think i ever heard on my own or found on my own

Finally got cable tv when we moved off the farm when I ten and got my first taste of mtv. First music video I ever saw was Aliens
Probably heard like MC Hammer or something before that but it didn't mesermize me like Outkast did.
DMX for sure then I remember my cousins having sleeves of albums, they would bump Hov a lot, those are the earliest memories I have access to
I really don't have any memories from the 90s at all but I do remember my mom buying both clean and explicit versions of Eminem Show, GRODT, and The Documentary. She stopped caring shortly after that though, kinda wish I kept the clean versions for nostalgia
My uncle playing get rich or die tryin. Jeezy and Em all early 2000โs
I remember him playing us that Eminem Hail Mary diss to Ja rule
I have the Nelly/Ja Rule/50/Em era very clear in my mind even though I was around six years old around that time. Everyone older like my cousins were wearing those baggy clothes and playing their music. You just soak up that environment as a child and observe everything.
But personally when I made more conscious decisions of what I want to listen to music wise, it was more around 08 with Soulja Boy and Em.
when PAPI dropped that started from the bottom
greatest of all f***ing time
