A lot of early memories but some very early core memories
Hearing What You Know by Ti when it first came out and thinking it was bananas, I still do
Id say the thing that got me 100% all in on being a rap fan actively was Kanye vs 50 Cent in 07. I was a 50 fan just because I knew a lot of his songs, but I was so amazed by the graduation singles. It was right before my 7th bday so I asked my mom to buy me both but she came back with Curtis and Soulja Boy album bc Graduation sold out lol, ending up being a super big Ye stan from that point until TLOP
Probably like 4 my pops bought a dvd from them Asian folk in trains and played it at the crib s*** had mf drop it like it’s hot and many men
my dads mix CDs he would play in the car. hot in herre was the first song i could sing along to before i even knew what the words were
Its dark and hell is hot + flesh of my flesh in blood along with pac and dj quik always played in the family outings with the others in the apartments we used to be at, s*** was lit.
Pretty much had rap playing playing at very early ages but those DMX albums are still my earliest of memories I had with rap.
Then the em/50/dre era early on listening to them s***s with my big bro in his benz riding around soCal. Good times
Backseat of my moms car drooling hearing Hypnotize by Biggie
i honestly dont remember but the earliest memories i have is getting nellyville and listening to lil romeo and bow wow lol, then the first song i remember hearing on the radio was down and out, first album i ever bought on itunes was kingdome come, first album i downloaded off the internet was so far gone (limewire), first concert was lil uzi
and i used to be terrified of busta rhymes
The earliest memory that stuck with me I have of seeing something hip-hop related is being in my fams old living room seeing Still DRE on what was probably MTV2’s Sucker Punch block when I was around 4 or 5 years old, another memory is being around that same age at a get-together at my Grandma’s house and Hey Ya! by Outkast was playing, that “bubble” synth melody on the hook stuck with me for years but I didn’t find the song until years later.
My parents have always played old school 80s-90s rap, new jack swing and freestyle music so it’s been around me for a long time “in the background”
I was a little kid during the mid 2000s and my earliest broad experiences with hip-hop all go back to that because that was the hot s*** at the time, I remember when Akon was everywhere
i honestly dont remember but the earliest memories i have is getting nellyville and listening to lil romeo and bow wow lol, then the first song i remember hearing on the radio was down and out, first album i ever bought on itunes was kingdome come, first album i downloaded off the internet was so far gone (limewire), first concert was lil uzi

I used to be kinda scared of Get Low by Lil Jon because of his raspy voice, I thought he sounded like a monster or something
I don't remember what my first hip hop song was, but I know the first albums to get me excited were 3 Feet High and Rising, Paul's Boutique and Late Registration. Completely opened my mind to what hip hop production was capable of sonically.
Pac
When I was a toddler my favourite song was Hey Ya
