Thats truly what defines a mixtape to me, an artist taking a free form approach to the music

If you stop at NWTS drake evolved exactly as he should've but after views he went crazy into the numbers game

he used to make outstanding music

This and the warm up probably my most played projects that year for sure

Both clearly communicate someone with incredible potential to be one of the biggest

He really fumbled his debut (even tho I enjoy a lot of songs on TML). So far gone and Take care just had a different level of impact

Now it feels forcefully placed instead of stitched in or collaged. Feel like the stretch of views to more life is probably the last time he was able to efficiently have different sounds and styles coexist without giving up artistic integrity

2009 Drake might be my fav if we include all those features he had at that time

Anyone who tells you otherwise wasn’t there for it and didn’t experience that era.

Yeah Thank Me Later is nice but So Far Gone & Take Care are classics

Still a little disappointed that he never really expanded on that full pop sound that he played with on some of the songs here, but still a classic nonetheless. Probably a top 10 mixtape all time

Infinite nostalgia

I didn’t get into Drake fully until the release of So Far Gone. I was only 14. I wish I could play Lust For Life for the first time and then follow that up with Houstatlantavegas..
